Weekly writing challenge - A story based on the picture!

Image
Driving through the erratic traffic in the rush hours can be really tiring and frustrating.  I was trying my best to drive through and somehow reach the coffee shop on time, where my friend lily was waiting for me. Hello! I am Sonam, an amateur photo journalist, trying to cover interesting stories with my photographer friend, who was fuming in paranoia waiting for me.  Interesting sights is what inspires us; while she tries to capture them all, I try to build a story around it. We work in tandem and are now planning to do a website together , a simple project of her visions and my words, our lovely togetherness . Sweet! So, running 30 minutes late, as I try to drive through the wee hour traffic, before I know I am glued to something! Something which is as simple , but it’s worth a 1000 words.  Just on the left of me was a children’s park and I couldn’t help but notice this little girl leaning against a merry-go-round, unmoved and lost in her tho...

So here's a recipe of - myself!  One serving – Burrrp! Caution – Indian food is always on the heavier side ;) Ingredients A bowl of life 1tbsp of affection 2 tbsp of mood swings ¼ tbsp f of flirtatiousness just like Ajinomoto, I know it is dangerous but its just needed when you have a DISH by your side ;) Some slices of green envy, red anger, Sprinkle up with some Stubbornness Some chopped negligence  Some chopped confusion Use some self obsession to garnish Take the big bowl of life, the bowl must be already sterilized with life J Now, take some chopped negligence, add to it some chopped slices of confusion, now let the ingredients simmer well as both have their own fiery properties, hence needs to be kept on a low flame.  Now add 2 tbsp of mood swings to it and let it splutter for a while. Follow it up with some slices of anger and see when i...

Bikram Yoga/Hatha yoga/Hot yoga - Review!

Image
Breaking all my inhibitions, ditching the free ladies night and with the enthusiasm of trying some break-through workout form, I finally warded off my laziness and jumped in enthusiastically to go for my very first  class of Bikram yoga a.k.a hot yoga or popularly known as Hatha yoga. Indeed a very hyped and much  talked about form of yoga offlalate.  Though being engendered from India, it is more popular overseas  and growing its popularity in Asian countries currently. Bikram Yoga originated in 1970’s, brought to  light by Bikram choudhury, the founder of Bikram Yoga. The process involves practicing yoga in a room enabled with 105* Fahrenheit (40*C humidity) with 26 different  postures, not very difficult, but in a room so hot it feels as tough as climbing a mountain.  Immediately after class The class begins with breathing exercise (pranayam) involving inhaling and exhaling deeply and correctly to bring in fresh flow of oxygen...

Colonial Bistro Bangkok - Review!

Image
It's been long since I have penned down any   reviews about the restaurants I've visited recently  . Recently I was smitten by just a look of it, the colonial Bistro cafĂ©, located in soi 5 in the Sathorn district of Bangkok , with its impeccable decor, which looked like a little cozy private French Bungalow from the outside.   Designed as per French aesthetics, the restaurant is a small chic and classy den, with white washed walls and white lacquered chairs & tables laid across.     The place is spread across a floor. The ground floor,  being a small little cafe with 2 tables and half- rounded cozy rattan chairs. And then upstairs, on the first floor is the dining area, which looks very chic and sophisticated. It has a very nice fine-dine aura with a breath of fresh air.   That's where we sat! Ivory upholstered couch!  The tiny elements like the elegant chandelier hanging from the ceiling and the White cage resti...

What's hot this season!

Image
What's Hot! Time to kick your wardrobe with some newbie trends doing the rounds! Here's how you can shine up like a new penny, go the Bollyood way... Under the Neon lights! We all love bright colors, but off lately we have seen a lot of B-town beauties going gaga over bold Neon shades! Talk about striking a pose, they have surely struck one with these eye-catching bold colors. The very own style diva Sonam Kapoor kicked off the trend, and then we didn't feel the need to look further as we knew what's in store for all the celebrities; thereafter. Deepika Padukone was later found sporting one of these at the premiere of her  upcoming movie Chennai Express , while Priyanka Chopra also draped a quirky fluorescent green with a matte grey  blouse. While watching these leggy lasses in bright bold sarees is fun, one cannot not notice the blouses they team up with the Sarees. Surely we know what's hot this season, but looks like this spre...

Why I no be social!

I would rather hover around in my room listening to some awesome music and just be myself and be stupid! Rather than being all put together and display fake smiles all over the place. And to be honest, I would love to vomit it on a social networking site" Hey! I ain't coming to any aunty or uncles 50th birthday or 5th death anniversary and so on....but I am an Indian and I should behave like one, so I plunge into my alter ego and jus behave...."Hello! can I please take the dishes away", I am just waiting and watching when your last bite is over and when  I can take that plate over from you... you see I am an Indian girl, born to do all this social crap! I may sound a lil rude ( I don't hate it all that much, but it’s just my anti-social nature). But I come from a Sindhi community, where gathering means a fortunate event where people just want to drink ...and drink! I would jump of a cliff, had I been a socialite. Now imagine sitting lonesome in ...

My Poem

Sometimes.... Sometimes you find so easily in the dark Sometimes You cant see yourself even in the bright light That’s when days get darker And nights get bright Sometimes You can’t see your own Reflection even when its right below Sometimes you feel you’re drowning Though the water is so shallow Sometimes you hear nothing even When the voices are so loud Sometimes you feel so deserted Even in middle of a crowd Sometimes you feel the need of Someone but no one’s around You die to be with someone But you hear not a single sound Sometimes you wanna break all the barriers Sometimes you want to let lose But life doesn’t work the way you want it to You don’t get what you choose Sometimes in the deepest of ocean You feel you are safe Sometimes while walking on the road You feel someone’s digging your grave Sometimes you wish you could handle the cycle of Deaths sorrows and everything bad that happens to one’s life But god is the but...
