Bel Pesto - Review!
Taking true
advantage of 1st May- Labour day, I decided to venture out with my
hubby.
So, as
usual; feeling lazy to travel; we decided to explore a close-by restaurant by
the name of Bel pesto
Italian, as
it sound, the logo has an Italian flag with a black tag with the name . How
cool and Italian is that?
The
restaurant had a vintage and vibrant feel to it. The lower level boasted white washed walls
with brown wooden chairs and tables; sans upholstery giving it a very homey and
hip feel.
All the
vintage pieces of art really added a charm to the place, like an old age Radio
set, a wired telephone with an art book kept besides.
It was like
we have walked into someone’s little private space. There were blown up real life images, which
bedecked the place. We sat upstairs, on the upper level. Similar décor, just
the tables and chairs were white painted and it had vibrant colorful couches adorned
with screen printed cushion adding to the drama.
All in all,
an outdoor experience with a hip-homey feel. We were all over the place, like
we owned it ;)
Starting
with starters we called for bread croutons filled with cheese and olive oil. It
was not as sinful as it sounds. The cheese we felt was somewhere too bitter
though.
Proceeding
to the main course, we called in for a huge 4-cheese toped pizza, which means
it has 4 different flavoring of cheese, topped with mushrooms and black olives.
( Pizza
without mushroom and olives? Please go die if you have one )
Lastly we
ordered, one of my favorites, pasta with pesto sauce. That’s my favorite sauce when it comes to
Pasta. It was a delight as usual, but a little less cream, maybe they saved on
the walnuts and pinenuts. But ofcourse sprinkle some chilli powder and oregano
and a few drops of Olive oil and you are good to go J
And to pair
it up, I enjoyed the meal with a glass of their House wine, a Red Wine from
Chile with notes of blackcurrant and cherries, some name which I differed to
understand.
